When Molly Monroe wakes up the morning after a wild holiday party, her hangover is the least of her problems. She has no memory of the night before. Plus, there's a strange man in her bed, and a video of her performing a sex act on the street is quickly going viral. All of that takes a backseat, however, when Molly finds her roommate and best friend, Posey, dead in her bathtub. The authorities are quick to write it off as an accident, but Molly has her doubts. As she struggles to piece together clues of her forgotten evening, it becomes clear that danger lurks much closer than she or Posey ever imagined. Brent (How To Kill Men and Get Away with It) presents a grimly humorous, plot-driven suspense novel. Narrator Victoria Morrison gives an engaging performance of both Molly's first-person perspective and the social media posts that begin each chapter. Listeners may notice occasional editing glitches, but they are infrequent enough to cause minimal distraction. VERDICT This audio will appeal to listeners seeking a satirical psychological suspense with a hot mess of a heroine. Recommended for fans of Alice Feeney, Freida McFadden, and Tarryn Fisher.--Lauren Hackert
