Water is essential • We can survive without food for weeks (though it is not advised!), but only a couple of days without water. Every day you need: Age 5-8 – five glasses of water (one litres). Age 9-12 – seven glasses (one and half litres). Over age 13 – eight to 10 glasses (two litres). And when you exercise or it is a hot day, you will need even more.
